Trade secrets Autosmart What do we use to bling up our rides Brendon Cleaning scooters is one area owners often come unstuck, the use of slippery products to treat the black or grey plastic panels being the number one mistake made by proud owners wanting their trusty steed to look schmick.
I've been told to disclose a secret, something I really don't want to. D'Arcy feels if people are aware how painful I am when it comes to the cleanliness of anything with wheels & an engine it will give these products some credibility.
I clean & polish my lawnmower ! There it's out, the annual event of bringing the mower in for a full service & cleanup bring many comments from the rest of the HQ crew, mostly they just shake their heads avoiding a discussion about preventative maintenence, how my Victa 5.0 mower is ten years old & looks brand new. The point being if I'm like that with a mower you should see how bad I am with my scooters.
Every scooter on the floor gets a hit with a coat of polish & trim treatment. When you've got 50 plus scooters on the floor its a mamoth task. It's quick & easy to use, two cans covered 55 scooters including a couple of customers ones.
We use Autosmart Smart Dash for the non painted plastic surfaces, it is non silicon with a dry finish. Simply spray on & wipe with a clean soft cloth. Black & greay surfaces come up brilliant as the picture shows. The scooter shown is a 6 year old SYM Jolie with 21,000 K's on the clock. It's also not very well looked after the faded plastic panel has been treated with one spray of Dash Dandy Satin the other half is untreated. A picture says a thousand words.
Autosmart also have an spray on Polish called Stardust Eclat which you spray on painted surfaces, if you keep this up to the scooter from new it protects you paint from the elements like sunscreen.
The Eclat retails for $16.95 the Smart dash $19.95 & will last for ages.
