What you will need Safety Gear Requirements Safety gear is required for the track to keep you as safe as possible Brendon Safety gear is required for the track to keep you as safe as possible. There are minimum standards employed by Motorcycling Australia (Queensland) for recreational track days. It is best any gear you purchase be for a motorcycling application as they are the best for the job.
We are currently finalising discount packages for riders, in the interim period most motocycle stores will carry stock that you will be able to use. Just let them know what you intend to do, they may look at you funny but I've never been able to use "Scooter racing" in a sentence without the listener laughing.
Helmet
Full Face only, meeting Australian Standards. It doesn't matter what brand so long as it is in good condition. If it has been in an accident it should be thrown out and replaced.
Gloves
Proper motorcycling gloves with finger and palm protection, ski and cycling gear doesn't cut it
Jacket
Must offer elbow, shoulder and back armour and can be secured to your pants so it cannot not ride up exposing your body in the event of an accident.
Pants
Must offer bum and knee protection. Should also be able to be secured to your boots (inside maybe) so they cannot ride up exposing your legs
Boots
Offering foot and ankle protection.
